I don’t like it when bloggers post long personal stories along with their recipes. Too much scrolling, not enough caring. So, I’ll keep this short. There is a brief time in LA when summer is a pleasant experience. It’s high seventies, the sunlight is bearable, and there’s a breeze. Then, it quickly turns to shit. It gets too hot to be inside, to sunny to be outside, and the only breeze is from your A/C, if you even have one. This lasts well into “fall,” AKA three-quarters of the way through October.
Here’s a recipe to cool you down during the hot months.
Tequila Berry Cooler
1.5 oz. Tequila Blanco (I prefer Espolon)
0.5 oz. St. Germain
1/3 cup Fresh or Frozen Mixed Berries
Juice from 1/2 Lime, plus a wedge for garnish
1. Muddle the berries and lime juice in a double old-fashioned.
2. Throw in some ice cubes.
3. Add the tequila and St. Germain.
4. Top off with club soda.
5. Stir, and garnish with a lime wedge.
6. Enjoy! Actually, make one for a friend, too. Don’t drink alone!
